Observation about the Virtuosity (Quality) of Plot

Vastu Shastra: Plot

It is very important to consider all aspects about the quality of plot or piece of land before constructing house on it for living. For observation about the quality of plot, experts of vastu shastra has described four types of signs about plot like-

(1).

1. Plot having white soil This type of plot is known as Brahmin.
2. Plot having red soil This type of plot is known as kshatriya.
3. Plot having green soil This type of plot is known as vaisya.
4. Plot having black soil This type of plot is known as shudra.

(2).

1. Plot with kusha (grass) It is called Brahmin.
2. Plot with shar (moonja) It is called kshatriya.
3. Plot with kusha-kasha It is called vaisya.
4. Plot with all types of grasses It is called shudra.

कल्पद्रुम के आधार परः-

सुगन्धा ब्राह्नाणी भूमि रक्तगन्धा तु क्षत्रिया।
मधुगन्धा भवेद्वैश्या मद्यगन्धा च शुद्रिका।।

According to kalpdruma-

Sugandha brahmani bhoomi raktagandha tu Kshatriya.
Madhugandha bhavedwashya maghagandha cha shudrika.

(3).

1. Plot with fragrance It is called Brahmin.
2. Plot with the smell of blood. It is known as kshatriya.
3. Plot with the smell of grains It is known as Vaisya.
4. Plot with the smell of wine It is called shudra.

Sign (symptom) of plot according to tastes-

(4).

1. Plot with good taste It is known as Brahmin.
2. Plot with bitter taste It is called as kshatriya.
3. Plot with sour taste It is called as Vaisya.
4. Plot with pungent taste It is called as shudra.

It is said about plot that Brahmin plot gives pleasure (happiness), Kshatriya plot gives governmental post; Vaisya plot gives wealth and property and it is better to avoid shudra plot.

According to saints- Vashishtha and Narad, plot having white, red, green and black soil is considered as better for for Brahmin, kshatriya, vaisya and other people respectively and in all these four types of plots, plot with the smell of ghee, with the smell of blood (rakta), with the smell of grains and with the smell of wine are considered as to provide pleasure (happiness) to Brahmin, kshatriya, vaisya and other people respectively.

In this way, one should choose plot for constructing house only after observing about the quality of plot on the basis of soil’s color, kusha, grass, smell and taste.

Selection of place (plot) for constructing house– For constructing any type of house, a particular plot is needed as well as one should be very careful for its selection. Normally, for constructing house, an architect is called to the spot for drawing the layout of plot, but it is very important to take advice from an architect before purchasing plot for constructing house. While selection of plot for constructing house, if one remains careful about following facts, the house is being constructed very beautiful as well as according to vastu shastra.

Type of soil– The soil is categorized according to its color- red like brick, deep brown, white, red, yellow, mixed color, black, etc. as well as its smell (fragrance), taste, shape-size, etc. the use of black or clayey soil is not considered as the best for the construction of house. It must be also observed about the weight and tolerance ability of soil properly before constructing the base of house. It is better to avoid such place or plot for constructing house having big round stones, holes (houses) of termites or where anyone has been killed or any dead body has been buried under the soil, having loose soil or the place which has been filled, etc.

Place and its environment– It is better to select such plot or piece of land whose surface is even as far as possible. If it has slop, must be towards north-east direction. As in case of most colonies and towns, if the place for constructing house is smaller, any big trees like- peepal, banyan, mango, tamarind, etc. should not be found near it, because their roots and branches may harm that house or building. If the place for constructing house is bigger, the area of house or building must be at little distance of them. The plot having fertile soil, flowering plants, covered with grass, trees who give fruits, etc. is considered as the best for constructing house. The plot having no under water should not be purchased. It has not described clearly about the plot of temples, ashram, school-colleges as well as the plot reserved for any good work, etc. for the purpose of constructing house. It is not considered as appropriate to construct house behind the temple of lord Vishnu or in left side of the temple of Maa (Goddess) Durga. It is better to construct house at a distance of minimum 50 meter from the temple of Lord Shiva. It is better to avoid the south and west direction of mountain for constructing house, but the north and east direction of it can be selected for this purpose. But, one thing should always be kept in the mind that it is not suitable in every case.

Plot and vaastu– If the shape and size, angle, form, etc. of plot are according to the principles of vaastu, this type of plot is considered as auspicious. There are many levels for selecting plot in towns and colonies, but one should try to select place for constructing house according to vastu shastra as far as possible. As it is said- ‘Precaution is better than cure.’

Shape and size (structure) – For selecting place or plot for constructing house, the structure of plot plays an important role. The principles of vastu shastra about plot are same in each case of houses, industries, commercial institutes and residential house, only the measurement of plot is different like-

  • The plot must be square or rectangular in shape (in case of rectangular shape- it should not be more than 1:2). The expansion of north and south parts of the plot must be more than east and west one, but no any other plot is better than the big plot around which vacant place is left.
  • The plot having three corners, five edges, six sides, eight sides, many sides or round in shape as well as the plot having worse shape and is not even, etc. are not considered as good or auspicious.
  • The plot having cow’s face i.e. front part of the plot is less wider than back part is considered as good in respect of emotion, but the path or road near such plot must be towards south or west direction, but not towards east or north direction.
  • The plot having lion’s face i.e. front part of the plot is wider than back part is not considered as good. But if the road or path is towards east and north direction, this type of plot is considered as good.
  • Different types of corners of the plot also play an important role in determining the quality of it.

Corners of the plot– When all the four corners of the plot are 90°, such plot is considered as good. It is very important to have the south-west corner of the plot as equal to or less than 90°, it is considered as good. The north-west corner of the plot must be equal to or more than 90°, but should never be less than it. Also, the north-east corner of the plot must be equal to or less than 90°, but should not be more than it. In other words, length between north-east to south-west corners should not be more than length between north-west to south-east corners.

Position or location of plot in respect to road– According to the principles of vastu shastra, the place for house or the direction of the front part of plot and position of road determine the importance of it and also the plot should be categorized according to it like-

Eastern part (plot)-The plot having path or road only towards east direction, is called eastern plot.

South-eastern plot– The plot having roads towards east and south directions, is known as south-eastern plot.

Southern plot– The plot having roads or path in its south direction, is called southern plot.

South-eastern plot-The plot having roads towards south and west directions, is called south-eastern plot.

Western plot– The plot having road or path in its west direction, is known as western plot.

North-western plot– The plot having roads or path towards north-western direction, is known as north-western plot.

Northern plot– The plot having road or path towards its north direction, is called northern plot.

North-eastern plot– The plot having road or path in its north and east directions, is known as north-eastern plot.

Classification of plots or construction of house– Plots are classified according to the number of roads passing through the front part of them.

Part ‘A’-

  • The plot or piece of land having roads on all its four sides is considered as the best and if the roads of north and east direction are lower than plot, it adds extra benefits and comfort. If south-west and north-east corners are less than 90°, it provides more and good benefits.
  • The plot having roads on east, north and west directions as well as the roads of north and east directions are lower than the road of west direction, it is considered as the best. North-east corner has much expansion towards north and east direction as well as south-west corner is higher than north-east surface, it gives good results.
  • North-east area also comes like this. Such type of plot has road on its north and east direction; north-east corner is expanded additionally towards north or east direction, the place of constructing house is higher than roads as well as the slop of road is towards north-east corner, the place of constructing house is higher than south-west surface.
  • North-western plot- There is a road on the north and west direction of the plot of constructing house as well as the north-east corner is expanded towards north or east direction and the road of west direction and south-west corner are little higher than north-east direction. This type of plot is also considered as the best.

Part ‘B’-

  • The plot having roads or paths on its east and west directions and the surface of road and plot is little lower in the east comparison to west direction, is considered as the best.
  • The plot having road or path in its north and west directions, but the surface of plot and road is higher in north direction comparison to south one as well as high buildings are present in its west direction, such type of plot is considered as very useful and good.
  • The plot having road in its east direction, the slop of road and plot is towards north-east direction, the surface of plot is extra higher and the west direction of it has high buildings, this type of plot is considered more beneficial and good.
  • The plot having road or path in its north direction, the slop of road and plot is toward north-east direction and the surface of plot is extra higher as well as its south direction has buildings, this type of plot is considered as the best.
  • The plot having roads or paths in all the three directions except west direction as well as
  • The plot having roads in its east, west and north directions as well as the road in the west direction is lower than the road of other two directions, the plot is considered as the best.

Part ‘C’-

The characteristics of the plot of this part are just opposite to part ‘A’ like-

  • The plot having roads in its east direction, but the level of these roads is lower than it, but there are high buildings and mountains, etc. located in all its three sides, this type of plot is considered as good.
  • The plot having roads on its all the three sides, but the east direction has high buildings or mountains, etc., the roads in west and south directions are lower than the surface of it, this type of plot is considered as very useful and good.
  • The plot having road or path in its north and south directions as well as its east direction has also high buildings and the road of south direction is lower than it and the place of west direction is vacant, this type of plot is considered as good.
  • The place or plot having road in its west direction is considered as the best.

Part ‘D’

The characteristics of the plot come in this category is considered as just opposite to part ‘C’-

  • If the plot has roads in all its four directions, it is considered as the best, because one gets all types of happiness as well as prosperity from all the four sides.
  • Selecting the plot having many roads in one direction of it and the plot having roads in its north and east directions is considered as the best.
  • The plot having roads on its south and west direction, is very auspicious for businessmen. The plot having roads in its south and east directions is considered as very good for female organization and their activities, but if one would be careful about the structure of house while construction, it proves auspicious.
  • The surface of road and plot must be lower in south and west directions comparison to north and east direction. Having the west and south direction of plot higher is considered as the best.
  • If any type of drainage, river, etc. present in the north direction flowing from west to east, it is considered as auspicious, because it proves beneficial results.
  • The plot having north-east corner as round is not considered as good, but in other hand if the south-east corner of the plot is round in shape, this type of plot can used in few conditions.

Other types of plots-

  • The plot having north-east corner as expanded towards north or east direction, is known as good.
  • The plot having south-east, south-west, north-west, etc. corners as expanded outwards, is not known as good, but this type of plot can be used after making few changes in it.
  • The plot having five different sides or the plot having north-east direction as cut is not considered as good, but it can be used after making few alternations in it.
  • The four sided plot is also not considered as good whose north-east direction has been cut, or whose south-west corner is more than 90° or distance from south-west to north-east of which is less than the distance from south-east to north-west direction. This type of plot can be used after making few alternations in its design.

Expansion of plot– When plot has to expanded (increased its area) by adding nearer piece of land, it is very important to be careful about following facts like-

  • The plot, whose south-west direction is expanded or increased outwards, is not considered as good, because it may be responsible for bad health of landlord, loss of wealth or many types of other problems.
  • The plot which has expanded towards south direction or increased outwards additionally, the landlord has to face any type of accident and loss of money.
  • The plot whose south-east part is being expanded, there is always the possibility of fire related accidents, litigations, stealing or theft, etc.
  • The plot which is expanded towards its north-west direction is not considered as good. In this case, one has to face mental troubles and lots of expenses.
  • The plot which has being expanded or increased towards its north, north-east and east directions, is considered as good. This type of plot provides wealth, property, name, face and all types of pleasures.
  • If the purchased plot fulfils all the requirements of vastu shastra, the plot nearer or at little distance of its north, north-east or east direction can be also purchased. It provides success from all sides. In other hand, purchasing the plot located on its west or south direction is harmful.

Profit and loss (positive and negative impacts) of the different shapes and sizes of plot-

  • The plot square in shape is the best. The people of the house constructed on such type of plot get all types of prosperity and comforts.
  • The plot rectangular in shape is considered as better and the people living in the house constructed on such plot is remain healthy as well as go on getting wealth and prosperity.
  • A triangular plot is not considered as good. The master of such has to face litigations and many types of other problems.
  • A round shaped plot is also not considered as good and auspicious. The landlord has to face a new problem daily.
  • The plot having five or eight corners, many sides, or in various shapes, etc. is not considered as good. One goes on facing mental excitement and instability in the different fields of his life daily.

Surface of all types of plots-

  • The plot which south and west surfaces are higher, is very auspicious.
  • If the surface of north and east directions of plot is lower, this type of plot is considered as good.
  • The surface of plot must be lowered in north-east corner.
  • The surface or level of plot can be kept even (equal) in south-east and north-west directions, but it will better to have north-west corner of it as lower than south-east corner.
  • The surface of plot must be higher in south-east and north-west direction comparison to north-east direction, but must be lower in south-west direction.
  • The surface in north direction must be lower than south one and the surface of east must be lower than west direction.
  • In brief, it can be said that if the north-east surface of plot is lowest, it is better like-
  • The north-west surface must be higher than the surface of north-east direction.
  • The south-east surface must be higher than the surface of north-west direction.
  • The south-west surface must be higher than the surface of south-east direction.
  • The surface of plot must be highest in south-west direction.

Surface of the outside area of the plot- The surface of roads located in north and east directions must be lower than the plot’s surface. The surface (level) of these roads must be also lower than the level of the roads located in south and west directions. If high mountains, peaks or buildings, etc. are present in the south and west direction of plot, this type of plot is considered as good. drainage, river, etc. flowing from north, east and north direction is considered as good, but when it flows from north to east direction, it is considered as more auspicious. If ponds, lakes, etc. are present in north-east direction, one gets all types of joy and prosperity.

Many experts of vastu shastra have divided plot in two triangles as shown in figure. North-east triangle has been considered as the sun and south-west triangle has been considered as moon.

It has been also determined about it that the level of moon must be higher than sun’s level. Also, the part of the house constructed on moon area must be heavy and high, because it is seen that as like tides are generated in sea by the affects of moon as its affects also fall on the earth greatly.

Impact of plot’s level (surface)-

Direction Lower level (surface) Higher level (surface)
When the plot is in east direction, Good health, profits of money and longer life. Detachment (absence) of life partner, children and other family members.
When the plot is in south-east direction, Fear about fire related accidents, enemies, harmful also for fair sexes and children, etc. in case of lower the north-east direction. Much profit from business when north-east and north-west directions of plot are lower.

If its south-west direction is lower than south-east direction, it is considered as good. When the north-east part of this plot is higher, one gets success by doing business. But, when it is higher in its south-west direction, it is considered as very bad.
When the plot is in north direction, It the surface of plot is lower, one gets normal prosperity and good health. This type of plot is considered as good in respect of economical condition. When the surface of it is higher, one gets failure in every of his works.
When the plot is in east direction, Good health, wealth and all types of comforts as well as publicity when the surface of such plot is lower. More troubles, worse conditions, etc. in case of higher surface of the plot.

Angle-An easy method to find angle of 90°, less than 90° or more than 90°-

If the distance between A and C is more than 15 feet, angle B is more than 90°, if it is less than 15 feet, angle is also less than 90°.

If the distance between G and E is more than 10 feet, angle F is more than 90° and if it is less than 10 feet even in 10 inch, the angle is less or smaller than 90°

When the expansion of east part of the plot is more towards south-east direction, boys and girls will be more in number in the family. The boys will not do anything in their life as well as the nature of family members is also become low.

When the east part of the plot is increased or expanded towards north-east direction, one gets name and fame in the world, but it is not too good for economical profit.

When the south part of a plot is increased or expanded towards south-east direction, small children (baby) do not die, one also gets fame. But, problems related to money and earning it will go on appearing. Men’s health may also be affected. Problems related to litigation and other matters will go on appearing too.

When south part of a plot is increased or expanded towards south-west direction, women have to face trouble and sorrows and man is also become evil (criminals).

When west part of a plot is increased or expanded towards south-west direction, men earn money through wrong ways as well as spends lots. They are become too proud which harms their name and fame. Women are become weak mentally.

When south part of a plot is increased or expanded towards south-east direction and main gate or door of house is fitted here that faces towards south-west direction, it is considered as harmful, therefore if possible, fit another gate or door in front of north-east direction, because it is considered as good.

If south part is increased or expanded towards south-west direction and the main gate or door is located in south-east direction, it would be better to fit another door or gate in front of north-east direction.

If north part is increased or expanded towards north-west direction and the main gate or door is towards east direction which is in front of north-east direction, it is considered as beneficial.

When north part is increased or expanded in north-east direction and the gate or door is located in north-east direction facing towards north-west, it is considered as harmful. If possible, fit another gate or door facing towards north-east direction.

If west part is expanded towards south-west direction and gate or door is located in front of north-west direction, it is considered as harmful. If possible, fit another door in north-east corner.

If east part of a plot is expanded or increased towards north-east direction and gate or door is in front of south-east corner, it is not considered as good. If possible, fit another door or gate in north-east direction, because it is considered as good.

If north part has been increased additionally towards north-west direction and main gate or door is located in front of house or in a straight line from south-west direction, it is considered as harmful. If possible, fit another door or gate in north-east direction, it is very beneficial.

According to figure shown here, the place of constructing house is considered as harmful, this type of plot can be used again after making few changes in it.

If east part of a plot has been increased towards north-east direction, constructing house on such plot is considered as very good and useful.

When west part is creased or expanded towards north-west direction, this type of place is considered as auspicious for constructing house, so it is better to avoid such plot.

If south part of a plot has been increased or expanded towards south-west direction, this type of plot is considered as harmful. If the main gate or door is located in south-west direction, it is considered as very harmful.

If south part has been increased or expanded towards south-east direction, this type of plot is not considered as good for constructing house.

The plot, whose north-east part expanded towards north-east direction, is beneficial for constructing house. If there is a road or path in the south direction of plot, one should need to be much careful while constructing house.

If the plot is expanded or increased towards south-east direction, this type of plot is not considered as good, but it can be used after doing few alternations in it.

If the plot has been increased towards north-west direction, this type of plot is not considered as good. But, such type of plot can be used after making few changes in it.

If the expansion of plot is more towards south-east direction and the place for main gate or door is reserved in north-east direction, it is considered as very useful.

The plot having road or path in its west direction and the main gate or door of house is towards north-west direction, well in its north-east direction or towards this direction, this type of plot is considered as very useful.

If road is located in its north side, the main gate or door of house is in north-east direction and well is located in

The plot having house with road or path in north and west directions as well as if main gate or door is located in north-east direction, this type of plot is considered as very good.

If road is located in west or south direction and the main gate of the house is in north-west corner towards west direction, this type of plot is considered as very good.

If the plot is increased or expanded towards north-east direction, this type of plot is considered as good for constructing house.

If the north-east corner of a plot is round in shape, this type of plot is considered as harmful.

The plot which north-west direction is increased, this type of plot is also considered as good.

If south-west corner is less than 90° and the plot which south-west part has been increased or expanded, this type of plot is considered harmful as well as the people living on such place may be influenced by this negative (harmful) impacts.    4:30 pm

If east part of a plot has been increased towards south-east direction, this type of plot is considered as harmful in respect of constructing house.

If north part of a plot has been increased towards north-west direction, this type of plot is considered as inauspicious.

The plot whose north-east direction has been increased towards north, such type of plot is considered as good.

If the north-east part of a plot has been increased towards north direction, constructing house on such place is considered as very useful.

It a plot has been extended towards west direction in south-west corner, this type of plot is considered as harmful.

Method of examine (testing) the soil of a plot for constructing house

Before starting the base of house on a plot, it is very important to examine the soil of that place i.e. quality, tolerating capacity, etc. Mostly, following ways are adopted (followed) for examining the soil like-

Testing (examination) – It is very necessary to test (examine) the place or plot before preparing design (drawing a layout) of the house. It can be observed by pits and the base of previous buildings of that place. The place can be tested by digging pits. Municipal corporation, development authority or other type of society, etc. who take care of the area and verified the map of house, have full details of the tolerating ability of that area. By observing that area and testing about raw well, important information can be found properly.

Measuring the deepness of the plot– The deepness of a land can be measured just on the place where soil is soft and where soil or sand particles, etc. are available. The result obtaining through this test is not much reliable as well as we have to do additionally. In the process of such testing, a very thin and pointed rod of 2.5 cm to 4 cm radius can be used. This type of rod is inserted in the deep of soil by hammering or any other way. It is brought out after inserting inside the soil up to little deepness and the soil stuck with rod is examined. It is inserted inside the soil up to deep where it would start touching any hard thing, different types of deepness can be observed with the help of soil attached with the rod. And also, as much the rod will go deeper inside the soil by the stroke of hammer as the deepness of soil’s layers can be found. An intelligent person can estimate about the quality of soil very easily at the rate of going the rod deeper inside the soil.

For testing about little deep bases inside the soil and sand particles, a device, known as wooden drill is considered as suitable and useful.

Inserting method– Hole can be made in the soil through different types of drills. So, this process is known as inserting process. For testing of the bases of normal house, this type of drill is considered as very suitable and useful. There are many types of inserting process.

Drill inserting method– This type of process is considered as very useful for testing the land having soil and sand. In it, drill is fitted just vertically and then with the help of its handle, it is moved as pressing downwards. After being hole about one foot deeper, the drill is brought out and the soil obtained is kept for testing.

With the help of such drills, the soil of about 15 m deeper is examined. This method should not be tried on rocky or sandy area.

Wave inserting method– By this method, clayey soil does not settle down. Even this type of defect in this method, the information we get through it is very important. After that, it should be observed that which type of method it is? This method is used when rocky land has to be examined. In this method, an empty iron pipe is inserted up to little deeper. After that, a gas pipe is put inside this empty pipe. This gas pipe has radius less than the empty pipe. Then, the upper end of this gas pipe is connected with the source of water.

The radius of inner end of gas pipe is less. Due to pressure of gas pipe, the soil is come out and mixed with water. This soil is come on the earth. This type of soil is collected and examine. After examine this soil, which type of quality the soil has is known.

Stroking inserting method– In this method, even rocky land is broken by hammering again and again with the help of cutting device like chisel, etc. so that the land would become into fine particles after being broken. After that, water is poured inside the hole made by with the help of this device resulting fine soil is mixed or dissolved in the water. After that, this dissolved soil is brought out through pump or any other means and then it is dried under sunlight. Now, this type of soil is examined. By examining like this, we know about the quality of soil. One thing should be kept in the mind that this type of test is suitable for rocky land, but not for clayey soil.

Gully (iron piece) inserting method– When we have to make hole in rocks or stones, this method is used. It can be also used for testing clayey or sandy soil. In this method, first of all iron piece is inserted in clayey soil by hammering. After that, inner materials (soil) are brought with the help of a hollow or empty drill. A phalka is used for making hole in rock or stone that works as moving cutting devices. Since, a drill has an empty or hollow pipe, so it brings out strong gulli easily from rock or stone.

Wearing ability of soil– It means that how much weight the soil can tolerate. This tolerating ability also depends on soil’s particles. As much volume (area) the soil will have as it has tolerating ability. It is also important in respect of the safety of structure that extra weight would not give on its base. If the tolerating ability of the soil is 1 tone per sqr feet and if we put 1 tone weight on it in such a way that ½ of it would tolerate this weight, it would not tolerate this weight and the weight will go on being suppressed downward.

But if 1 tone weight would put on 2 sqr feet, the land would tolerate it easily as shown in figure.

Testing about tolerating ability of soil-There are many ways for finding about the tolerating ability of soil. One of them is- dig a pit about one foot wide, one foot long and two feet deep in the land whose soil has to be examined. Put a one sqr feet wooden piece over this pit. The sides of this wooden piece must be approx 8 feet or 10. This square piece of wood should be kept as just vertically inside the pit feet. A thick piece of flat wood should be kept on this square wooden piece in such a way that weight would fall just on the piece of wood located in its middle. After that, keep the sacks filled with sand on these flat wooden pieces in such a way so that the weight of all these sacks would fall on this flat wooden piece. We should allow pillar to wear after putting 25% extra weight than the desired weight we have to put on 1 sqr feet land for many hours. When we would know that the pillar is not moving downward, the soil can tolerate this weight easily. If we make marks of feet and inches on the pillar, the rate of moving it as downward can be also calculated. Through this method, the deepness of base can be estimated easily.

Improving (alteration) in the tolerating ability of soil– There are many ways for editing in the tolerating ability of soil, few of them are describing below by following ways like-

  • If the base of house would be filled deeper, the tolerating ability of base’s soil is increased, but softness (moisture) of layers should not be allowed to increase along with increasing deepness.
  • The place where soil is softer; fill sand particles, small pebbles or brick’s pieces and pressed them properly, it increases the tolerating ability of soft soil.
  • We know that the tolerating ability of soil is more at particular moisture. So, we can increase its tolerating ability by improving arrange of bringing out water from that soil.
  • By hammering after filling sands in the base of house, its tolerating ability is being increased. It should not be done where there is a chance of flowing soil with water. It should not be adopted near river’s bank; well, etc. where rats or other reptiles may make their holes so that sand would come out after getting pressure.

Making the land even-

Cleaning- Before starting any construction related activity on the plot, it is very important to clean the land by cutting shrubs, trees, grass and other types of vegetations, etc. garbages should be removed (cleaned) up to 50 m of its surroundings. The roots of trees should be dug out up to minimum 60 cm from the surface of land and then it should be filled with soil for making even.

Making the structure of house as in proper– The smoothness of pillars on important place acts as the bottom sign of instruction. This instruction level sign is similar to G.T.S. before starting this type of work; the bottom of constructing house is shown as prepared its structure properly with nail, bamboo, rope or pillar. This type of structure is maintained up to being completed this work.

Cutting (leveling) and filling– The cutting of plot is done from upper surface (level) to downwards (deeper). Cutting in the middle of land is considered as good in any condition. After cutting, the surface of land is leveled properly. Filling is done as leveling the surface, but this type of filling should not be done above 20 cm. any type of root, grass, garbage, etc. should not be on the land. This type of even surface should be without lumps of soil. Water can be sprinkled too over it if needed. Upper surface should be made even properly. Filling and hammering can be done on the surface of land according to need.

Classification of soil’s function– Functions about different type soil has been described by following ways like-

  1. There are several types of level land, like-
    • Vegetative or chemical land, grass (leave) less land, sand, pebbles, soil of making brick, stone, clayey soil, piece of decomposed wood, layered stone.
    • Mixture of soil told in ‘A’.
    • Concrete under beneath of land.
    • Thing having the properties of digging and breaking layers.
  2. Hard land– This type of land is of following type, like-
  • Hard heavy soil, hard layered stone, any type of soil which could be broken easily with the help of a spade.
  • The bottom soil of drainage.
  • Roads and its soling as well as strong part of inner soil.
  • Any type of surface which has been made by hammering stone’s pieces.
  • Brick’s work of lime, concrete, smoothness of stone in the mixture of lime or cement, etc. all these happen under the surface of land.

Normal rocks or stone– These are also following types like-

  • Lime stone, laterite, other hot or separate rocks which could be broken through nails.
  • Popular cement concrete (under the surface of land).

Different types of soils– There are also many types of soils like-

Rocks– This type of soil is used as filling in the base of house. Due to having much tolerating ability, this type of soil is being suppressed less by pressing.

Sand particles– It is asamanjak in drying condition, but it is become less asamanjak in wetting condition. The particles of sand are bigger than 6 mm. in many cases; they are smaller than 2 mm. If it could be arranged to prevent them, they can be used in the base of house. If pressure would give on sand particles, their expansions are increased.

Black soil– Black soil is also known as peet or bangam. Due to being expanded by wetting black soil, it is not suitable to use it in the base of house. This type of soil is contracted after being dried up. It is found mostly on the banks of river as well as in south India.

Jalod soil– This type of soil absorbs water very easily. So, it is not considered as suitable for the base of house. Over it, domat, clayey and sandy soils have been overlapped one another.

Clayey soil– The particles of clayey soil are soft and smooth as smaller even than about 2.002 mm. so, it is asamanjak. When this type of soil is dry, is become strong in structure. This type of soil is expanded too much by adding water in it as well as its volume is also increased, but this type of soil is contracted after being dried up. Therefore, this type of soil is also not considered as suitable for base of the house.

The soil mixed with stone and clayey soil is known as bolder soil.

If such soil has sandy stone too, it is known as hagin and when vegetations has been mixed in it, is known as dumut soil.

Pebble– Pebbles are, mostly, mixed under sand particles. Its particles are round and pointed. If it has no enough clayey soil, it is considered as suitable for the base of house. This type of sand does not expand more by giving pressure, but it is very important to prevent its expansion.

Chalk– normally, the chalk is hard, but it is become soft by putting in water. It is not considered as suitable to use for the base of house.
