India is also known as a religious country. All the works of every indian are related to religious emotion. The life has been connected with religion after dividing into sacraments (rituals). Every Indian adopts this type of religious works as a religious activity with devotion. This type of devotion is believed by the people who have no faith in God as blind faith, but they too adopt such religious works at need. The use of different types of religious signs or symbols have been described in vastu shastra and these signs or symbols are following types like-
- Ohm (Om).
- Religious pot (mangal-kalash)
- Meen (fish).
The word ‘Ohm (Om)’ is only Brahma.
Yadichchonto brahmacharya charanti
Tante padam sangrahen bravimyogityetat.
Etadhayevaksharam brahma etadhayevaksharam param.
Etadhayevasaram gyatva yo yadichchiti tamya tat.
Meaning- What is the thing for getting which one does devotion of brahmacharya- it is only ‘Ohm (Om)’.
According to vastu shastra, Ohm (Om) is just known as Brahma. It is puran purush and one who knows the secrets (meanings) of Ohm (Om), makes his wishes true. Just Ohm (Om) is the name of this world or God. It is the symbol of both vahavya sight and God. This word ‘Ohm (Om)’ is very powerful. It is known as the beez alphabet of Veda’s mantras.
Just Ohm (Om) has been described in mahima, Vedas, puranas and Upanishads. Lord Krishna has said about Ohm (Om) in Bhagwat Geeta as their own form. Ohm (Om) is considered as very important in vastu shastra. Ohm (Om) is a type of word or sentence, by just looking which joy is filled in the mind as well as peace. So, it is very important to establish the word ‘Ohm (Om)’ on pure and appropriate place in vaastu.
There are more than hundreds meanings of the word ‘Ohm (Om)’, among which one is- welcome the Gods.
Lord Ganesha is also called with the name of ‘Pranav’ according to Ganesha purana. He has been represented by the mysterious word ‘Ohm (Om)’ too. It has been also believed that first of all the word ‘Ohm (Om)’ was heard in the entire world and universe. This is the reason why the word ‘Ohm (Om)’ is pronounced after writing it on a paper before any type of auspicious or religious work as well as lord Ganesha is worshiped before praying or calling Gods and Goddess. In other words, the name of Shri Ganesha is chanted before doing any auspicious work like-
- Ohm (Om) Shriganeshay namah.
- Ohm (Om) Gan ganpatai namah.
- Ohm (Om) namah shivay.
Ohm (Om) is also called by Pranava, because this word never becomes old. Freshness (modernity) always go on coming in the word ‘Ohm (Om)’ as well as it makes one’s soul satisfied and pure.
Pranan sarvan parmatmanipranam yatityetsmat pranah
Jainism had also given an important place to the word ‘Ohm (Om)’. Omkar has been considered as pranav in vedas. So, the word ‘Omkar’ is used in the pronunciation of Veda’s mantras.
Different followers of tenet have different thoughts about the word ‘Ohm (Om)’-
As the word ‘Ohm (Om)’ is parmatmavachak, religious form, etc. according to Jain beliefs, ‘Ohm (Om)’ is a small symbol of panch pameshti. Saints meditate of ‘Omkar’ with point daily. This ‘Omkar’ word gives desired things and moksha. We should need to welcome (bow) this ‘Omkar’. Mangal area is parmatmavachak welfare form. The people of any religion whether they are related to Vedic, sanatan, Jain or Brahmin, kshatriya, vaishya or shudra, use the word ‘Ohm (Om)’ by writing before starting any auspicious or religious works like- marriage ceremondy, sanskar, opening of shops or house, accounts, etc.
In sikha religion too, word ‘Ohm (Om)’ comes out directly from (Om) navel by pronunciation (there is only one Ohm (Om) in the entire world, but different Gods are worshiped in different religions). The word ‘Ohm (Om)’ acts as eliminating one’s mental troubles. It is chanted for becoming free from troubles. It is the way of performing meditation. One gets a type of freshness by pronunciation of it. He gets healthiness in the body and peace in the mind. The journey of word ‘Ohm (Om)’ is the way to God, because ‘Ohm (Om)’ is known as three Gods- Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. Like this, the symbol of three words is the trishool of lord Shiva. Every type of religion is considered as incomplete without Ohm (Om). The word ‘Ohm (Om)’ had been converted into word ‘Aamin’ after reaching from India to Muslim countries.
Vvastu Shastra and Mangal-kalash (religious pot)–
The kalash (pot) filled with water, decorated with leaves and flowers have been considered as the symbol of auspicious, prosperity and wealthy ness from Vedic age. This world has been originated from water. So, here water is known as the symbol of the origin of the universe. The mango tree is always known as the green and fulfilled trees. Mangal kalash is completed by decorating mango’s leaves in it. Mango’s leaves represent the continuity of life after origin. After death of anyone, the pot, symbol of ending his/her life, is broken. The house too has been called like that of religious pot. First of all, this religious pot (mangal kalash) is worshiped in any type of religious activity. This is the reason why religious pot is established as well as worshiped in every religious works after constructing house.
Vastu Shastra Hatha-panchangulak (five fingers) –
It is tradition to touch the peeth of turmeric and rice with right claw on any auspicious occasion like- while entering in a new house, marriage ceremony and birth of child. Number five is the symbol of panchtatva (five elements) through which this world has been created. Even after death of anyone, all his/her five fingers does not being destroy which is the sign of the continuity of five elements. Hand is considered as the symbol of deeds. It is also the symbol of Abhay mudra (posture) of Gods. In Buddhism, different conditions of mind have been represented by the hands of Lord Buddha. Therefore, panchangulak (five fingers) have been considered as the religious sign as representing them as the symbol of Indian philosophy and it is tradition to establish them with the sense of prosperity in the form of religious signs in vaastu.
Vastu Shastra Meen (fish) –
In vaastu, fish has been always considered as the symbol of true love. If one would see fish before going outside the home or on any journey, he/she always gets success in every field. In our modern society, it is tradition to see fish on the day of ‘Dussehra’. Also, the tradition of drawing a beautiful image of fish on the main gate or door of house has been coming for years. It was done so that at least the image of fish could be seen on the occasion of any religious works. According to ancient belief, the fish is considered as the first form (incarnation) of Lord Vishnu and at the time of annihilation (catastrophe), this fish had protected man and this world in the form of boat. Just this fish is also known as the symbol of kamdev’s flag. This is the reason why it is the tradition of wearing ear rings of fish in women’s ears even in modern age. Due to this property, it is tradition of adopting this sign for religious works in the house of paired fish.
Vastu Shastra and Swastika–
‘Swastika’ is the avyav pad of Sanskrit language. It is counted in avyav pad on 54th kray of kaumodi grammar.
The word ‘Swastika’ is made up of two words ‘Su’ and ‘Asti’.
The meaning of Swastika is considered as welfare, mangal, good and auspicious. Like ‘Ohm (Om)’, few people start their auspicious works by writing the word ‘Swastika’ and few of them use both ‘Ohm (Om)’ and ‘Swastika’. Like India, the sign ‘Swastika’ has gotten royal respect (position) in entire Germany. In Jainism too, an important place has given to both ‘Ohm (Om)’ and ‘Swastika’. Omkar is considered as pranave even in Vedas as well as Swastika has been repeated in Vedas like- Swastika n indrah, etc.
Vastu Shastra, Ohm (Om) and Swastika–
It has been said that there is very deep relation in between both the signs- Ohm (Om) and Swastika. If Ohm (Om) is voice of inner soul of man or animals in India, in other hand Swastika is their asmita (dignity).
Swastika is known as the representative of karma yoga. It is the best even than sudarshan chakra, because the sudarshan chakra destructs (kills) enemies, but Swastika helps in good works.
The Swastika has four different directions means it helps in progressing and encourages one to progress in every directions.
The sing of ‘Cross’ is considered as very good and auspicious by Christian people and they show their faith and devotion for it.
Thus, it is said that if a Christian make this sign (cross) on the main gate or door of his/her house, the house is become like a heaven for him/her.
As like the Christians believes this sign as auspicious as Sikha people also believe this sign as auspicious.
It is said that religious sign is considered as the symbol of nation unity. As like every people chant the word ‘Ohm (Om)’ as Sikha people know this sign as ‘Maganl’. This sign also means that ‘Ohm (Om)’ is one. So, if a sikha person makes this sign on the main gate or door of his/her house, he/she believes that it provides him/her much joy, prosperity and peace.
As like the Christian people consider cross sign as auspicious and Sikha people consider this sign as auspicious as the Muslim people also believe this sign as very good and beneficial.
If Muslim people make this sign or write 786 on the main gate or door of their house or other holy place, the place or house is become more prosperous.
