What is the full form of GATE?

Who organizes the GATE?

Usually, this exam is conducted in January or February every year. It is a single system-based paper that lasts for three hours. Importance of GATE exam

The GATE exam is one of the toughest exams in our country. Just like IIT-JEE or NEET is the exam for 12th-grade students. Similarly, the GATE exam is important for engineering and graduation students.

GATE Full Form: GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is an exam that focuses on testing a candidate’s comprehensive understanding of undergraduate engineering and science subjects. GATE exam eligibility

  1. A candidate appearing in the GATE exam must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized board or university with at least 50% marks. either
  2. Candidates appearing in this exam should have a BE, BTech, BPharm Engineering, or Bachelor’s Degree in Technology.
  3. A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture is required.
  4. B.Sc. (Research): Bachelor’s degree in Science
  5. MSc, MA, MCA, or equivalent: Master’s degree in any branch of Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or computer application.
  6. Inter ME, MTech (Post B.Sc.): Post B.Sc. Integrated Master’s Degree Program in Engineering and Technology
  7. Holder of a Master’s degree in any branch of science, mathematics, statistics, computer applications, or equivalent

GATE Exam Pattern

This exam is conducted Computer-based Test (CBT) online, under which a total of 65 questions are asked to the candidates for 100 marks, for which the candidates are given 3 hours to solve. This exam is divided into two parts. In this, the candidates are asked questions related to General Aptitude, Engineering math, and Core Engineering subjects. The exam also includes both multiple-choice (MCQs) and blank-space questions. There is also negative marking for wrong answers in this exam.

 

What type of questions are asked in the GATE exam?

There are 2 types of questions in this exam:

Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

MCQs are worth 1 or 2 marks each in all the articles and sections. These issues are of the objective type, and each mark will have a choice of four answers, out of which the candidate has to mark the correct answer.

Numerical Answer Question (NAQ)

NAQ is 1 or 2 marks each in all the papers and sections. For these questions, an answer is an actual number to be entered by the candidate, and no option is given for such questions.

How do I prepare for the GATE exam?

  • To get success in the GATE exam, the candidates must have good knowledge of its
  • syllabus first. After that, one should prepare for this exam accordingly.
  • If you want to be successful in this exam, then make a timetable for it. After this, study according to the same timetable from time to time; this will help you prepare well.
