NEET is an exam known as All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT). Students who want to become graduate Medical (MBBS), Dental (BDS), Dental (BDS), AYUSH (BAMS), BUMS and BHMS participate in this national level medical competition.

The Full Form of NEET is The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. This is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).

Eligibility Criteria for NEET (UG)

If a student wants to appear for NEET, he/she must possess all the eligibility criteria for NEET (UG). Candidate must have passed or appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination from any recognized board with Physics, Biology/Biotechnology and Chemistry as main subjects.

Age eligibility for NEET

If you want to give NEET exam then you should be at least 17 years of age. Apart from this, if the candidate wants to give NEET exam then his age should be 17 at the time of admission. OR Complete your age on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the first year of undergraduate medical course. That is to say, irrespective of the category of birth of the candidate, he/she should be born on or before 31.12.2007.

Upper Age Limit: There is no upper age limit to apply for NEET (UG).

Number Of Attempts: The most important thing about NEET exam is that there is no limit on the number of attempts in it. Therefore, the student can give the exam as many times as he wants. But he/she must fulfill the criteria related to educational qualification and age.

NEET Exam Pattern

If you want to give NEET exam and have applied for it, then start preparing for the exam by understanding the exam pattern.

  1. NEET is a pen and paper based exam.
  2. In the exam, you are asked 200 multiple choice questions (MCQs), out of which you have to answer 180 questions correctly. Therefore, prepare for the exam in a planned manner.
  3. What subjects are included in NEET exam are Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology).
  4. Questions for each subject of the examination are given in two sections-(A) and (B). Section-(A) contains 35 questions, all of which have to be attempted. Section (B) will have 15 questions, out of which any 10 questions will have to be attempted.
    You will get 3 hours 20 minutes to complete the exam.
  5. For every correct answer you give, you will get 4 marks and for every wrong answer, one mark will be deducted.
  6. The latest NEET exam pattern consists of two sections, A and B, in all four subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology.
  7. Section A has 35 compulsory questions, while Section B has 15 questions with 10 compulsory questions, resulting in a total of 200 questions to be asked from the students.
